Waiting for Superman by Daughtry
www.youtube.com/watch?v=j4jCtf…
They say that when you meet the right person, you just know.
And that was exactly how you had felt when you met Steve Rogers.
Tall, handsome, kind-hearted, and strong. He had spent his whole life fighting to get where he was, and you thought it was the most inspiring thing.
Yeah, he's still coming, just a little bit late
You were one of those people that hadn't done a lot of dating. It's not that you didn't want to, but you just didn't find the right person.
The same was true with Steve when he was growing up. It just took a little longer for you to find each other.
Waiting for Superman to pick her up
You had wished and waited patiently, and sometimes impatiently, for the “perfect” man to show himself to you.
A prince in your eyes, who would be your own hero. Not necessarily in the literal sense, but someone who would make you feel safe.
You didn't really think that actual heroes existed.
Until you met him.
If life was a movie, then it wouldn't end like this
There were times you thought you would never meet him. Or that you had missed your chance.
But you held on to the hope, knowing that sometimes, people do get their happy endings. Not all the time, but who was to say you couldn't have yours?
Show her love and fly them through the air
You wanted someone that would sweep you off of your feet. Every little girl's dream, really. But you kept hoping that it would happen with someone.
She's dancing with strangers
You had met hundreds of guys before you met him. But none of them really caught your interest. A few of them had, and you'd dated them.
But after the second or third date, you saw that they weren't the guys for you. And you'd moved on to someone else. The endless cycle began again.
She's waiting for Superman
You saw Steve stand up at the end of the song as everyone started to applaud. You smiled to yourself.
“Thank you, everyone. Now, how about those requests?”
~~~~~After the Show~~~~~
You threw your head back and laughed at another one of Clint's jokes.
You had sat down with the Avengers almost immediately after your show, and they had been keeping you company for almost three hours since. You exchanged stories and jokes. They had plenty to go around, after all.
Even played a few drinking games at Tony's insistence. But it was starting to wind down, and you all knew it.
“Before you guys go, let me buy one more round,” you said.
Tony grinned. “Girl after my own heart.” You rolled your eyes and stood up.
“Sorry, Tony. I'm taken, remember?”
You headed over to the bar to order the last round. You felt a tap on your shoulder and turned around to see Steve standing there with his hands behind his back.
“Hey. Long time in the bathroom,” you said. You knew drinking and clubs weren't exactly his favorite place, but he had left at least twenty minutes ago to 'go to the bathroom'.
“Yeah, sorry about that. But Natasha said you might like these.” He smiled, showing you the bouquet that he'd been hiding. You gasped softly.
“I mean, I was going to get them anyway, but she said it was this kind of customary thing, and you were amazing tonight, so I figured--”
“Steve!” you said, effectively cutting him off. “Babbling again.” He flushed and immediately closed his mouth, knowing that he did that when he got flustered.
You thought it was adorable, but normally he'd keep talking until he ran out of things to say. And you didn't see the need for that.
“They're beautiful and I love them.” You grinned, taking the arrangement of about a dozen flowers, all in different colors.
“I don't suppose you're gonna stick around for one more round?” you asked, looking up at him hopefully. “Tony's flirting can get kinda boring after a while.”
He chuckled. “I guess, since I'm your Superman.” You shook your head.
“No, you're even better.” You gave him a quick peck on the lips. “You're my Steve Rogers.” He blushed, but pulled you back for a longer kiss.
“And you're my amazingly talented girlfriend, (Y/N),” he murmured against your lips. “Happy Anniversary.”
Tony's Party (Captain America x M!Reader)
I walk into the gym area and see The Cap working out. Usually he goes outside but, today was cold and rainy. I stand by the water fountain, watching his arms flex and the sweat on his face and his flushed cheeks.
When he notices me he ran his fingers through his hair and ran over to me.
“Hey, (Name)! How’s it going?” He smiles and takes a drink of water.
“Hey! My day got a whole lot better when I was you, cutie.” He swallowed his water a little too quickly.
Steve coughed and cleared his throat. “S-so, are you going to Tony’s party on Friday?”
I think for a second, “I don’t think
I Missed You (Steve X Reader)
Of all the people dancing, laughing, drinking, chatting, and just overall having a good time, there was only one woman who was not enjoying herself.
It's been 3 months. 3 months without your blue eyed soldier by your side. You remembered wanting to punch Fury in the eyepatch for informing you that you were not going to wake up to your husband's gentle butterfly kisses each morning.
He was on a mission, you had wanted to go with, but Steve, being to overprotective had denied your request.
Your contact was limited, partially because of the signal, and because enemy lines could hack the system to trace his location. So You didn't risk it. Th
Dare (Steve x reader)
“Trade a piece of clothing with Steve.”
Your confident grin falters. Natasha’s only widens.
“Get him to wear anything you’re wearing right now and put on something he’s wearing. And you have to change into it in front of him, you can’t just bring it here and put it on.” Natasha continues her explanation of your dare.
Why did she have to involve Steve? You've already barked like a puppy at Clint, even licking his cheek for effect. You told them about how mortifying your first kiss was when the guy’s mom walked in and scolded you. You thought the truth from your last game had
