Holding Out For a Hero
www.youtube.com/watch?v=EasWdq…
You glanced out at the table where your friends currently sat. All the Avenger men met your gaze. You smiled and began to sing.
Where are all the gods?
Thor stared at you, wondering if this was directed at him. He was certainly more than a good man, and he was an Asgardian God. You had become very good friends with him, and he often shared his Pop-tarts with you. Incredibly powerful, handsome, and a prince. What more could you be looking for?
He's gotta be strong, and he's gotta be fast, and he's gotta be fresh from the fight
Pietro Maximoff and the former Winter Soldier, Bucky Barnes, nodded along to the song. Strong, check. Fast, check. Fresh after a fight, check. Both of them got along fairly well with you. You also had a dry sense of humor, like both of them. They smirked.
He's gotta be sure, and it's gotta be soon, and he's gotta be larger than life
Bruce straightened his glasses, trying to steel his nerves. The shy scientist had asked you to work with him in his lab some time ago, and you helped him to stay calm when Tony tried to make the other guy come out. It was something that had endeared you to him, and he knew you felt the same.
Somewhere just beyond my reach
Clint kept his eyes locked on you, refusing to look away. You were best friends with Natasha, and you had played many a prank on him as a result. He thought you were absolutely incredible, even if you weren't an assassin like him.
It's gonna take a superman to sweep me off my feet
Tony took another drink as Steve sat back in his chair. Steve Rogers wasn't someone to think too highly of himself, but Superman was definitely directed at him. And Tony Stark was the exact opposite, knowing that he was the only one who was going to sweep you off your feet.
I would swear that there's someone somewhere, watching me
Loki hadn't wanted to come to this strange Midgardian event, but the longer he sat there, the more he thought that maybe it wasn't a complete waste of his time. He'd been looking for a queen for some time to rule beside him when he finally usurped his brother, and you seemed to fit the bill nicely. But still, he inclined his head slightly to make the others think he wasn't interested.
I'm holding out for a hero 'til the morning light
You finished off the song, earning a standing ovation from your friends in the back of the room. You smiled and nodded your head.
“Thank you, everyone. I'm glad you enjoyed that. But, about those requests.....”
~~~~~After the Show~~~~~
No one had seen you after the show, and your admirers were becoming a bit antsy. They had split off to try and find you before the others could, but they had resorted to working together after several minutes. They were huddled backstage, trying to think of where they hadn't checked.
“She has to be here,” Steve said. “Pietro, do another check.” He sped off to make absolutely sure you weren't anywhere around.
“I already checked the bar,” Tony said.
“And the servers haven't seen her,” Bruce told them.
“Not on the catwalk,” Clint reported as he joined the group.
“She is not hiding in the green room,” Thor said.
“Or in her dressing room,” Loki added. The others stared at him for several seconds.
“Still nothing,” Pietro said as he joined his comrades.
“Shh! You guys hear that?” Bucky hissed. They all fell silent, and that's when they heard it. You, laughing. The back door to the club was cracked open, and that's where the sound was coming from. They all glanced around to make sure no one had slipped out.
“If we're in here, who's making her laugh like that?” Clint asked. Everyone scrambled for the door.
You were leaning against the wall when you heard the door burst open. You jumped, glancing over to see who was making all the racket.
“Oh, hi guys. Is everything okay?” you asked, looking between them. They stared at you in confusion. You were alone. So, who had you been laughing with?
That was when they saw something move on the wall behind you. The Avengers started scrambling to attack the stranger.
You threw up your hands and shielded the stranger with your body.
“Hey, hey! What's going on?” you demanded. “Do you want to kill Peter?!”
“Peter?” they repeated. You nodded as the shape moved into the light, revealing Peter Parker with a white button up thrown over his spandex suit. He had his mask in his hand, and he grinned sheepishly at them.
“Hey, guys. Wasn't (Y/N) amazing tonight?” he asked, putting his arm around your waist.
“I'm just glad you actually made it,” you replied, smiling up at him. You moved in for a kiss when Tony stopped you.
“Wait, wait, wait! He's the hero you were singing about?” You nodded.
He cleared his throat. “Thor, if you would.” The Asgardian lifted his hammer and grinned devilishly.
Peter's eyes widened. “Always nice to see you guys.” He gave you a quick peck on the cheek and backed up a few paces.
“Sorry I can't stay.” And with that, he shot a web at a nearby building and disappeared.
The Avengers raced after him. “If we can't have her, no way you can!”
Sing me a song (Avenger x reader)
*A/N Please read the description.*
You have lived in the avengers tower for quite a while now. After the fall of S.H.I.E.L.D. Fury had personally send you to watch over Tony Stark and make sure that he is the one to save the world and not destroy it.
Thinking about Ultron you failed terribly but you had done your best to reduce the damage afterwards. You had contacted Fury to get to Sokovia and save the citizens and you had helped the avebgers as good as you could from the tower. You weren't the one to fight directly but you had guided the avengers to save all the people on 'the flying rock of Sokovia' as you called it.
A/N: For the following endings please read description. You'll find all the links there.
You already had plans for that evening but somehow some people didn’t care about it. That’s why you had to go back to the Stark Tower to find some files that Director Fury needed ASAP. He didn’t even bother to call you directly, he just sent you a text message through JARVIS.
You had worked for S.H.I.E.L.D. for about ten years by then. At first your job was to keep their systems updated and do some programming. That was an easy task to do. You had fallen in love with computers – and later programming - since t
Bucky Barnes x Reader You're My Hero
You're My Hero
A/N: I saw this on Pinterest and I thought it'd make an adorable story.
"Imagine Bucky joining the Avengers and being a quiet superhero but one day as he's incognito downtown a little girl tugs his sleeve and he turns to see she's got a prosthetic hand and she looks at him and says very shyly, 'I just wanted to say that you're my hero.'"
Though Steve, Clint, and Bruce had been helping him overcome his past and become a new man, Bucky was still unsure of himself. He'd been through a lot as the Winter Soldier, and he wasn't sure he'd ever be able to become better than what they made him. He worried that he was still a danger,
